The stock market closed with a fall on the last trading day of the week. After the day’s volatility, the Bombay Stock Exchange’s major index Sensex lost 182.75 points to end at 52,386.19. On the other hand, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at 15,689.80, down 38.10 points. The Sensex and Nifty closed the previous trading day with a fall. At the end of trading, the Sensex closed at 52,568.94, down 485.82 points. On the other hand, Nifty closed at 15,727.90, down 151.75 points.
Among the major stocks today, the shares of Tata Steel, Adani Ports, Bajaj Finserv, Bharti Airtel, and Divis Lab closed on the green mark. On the other hand, shares of Bajaj Auto, TCS, HDFC Bank, Reliance, and Axis Bank closed on the red mark. The Sensex opened at 52375.85 with a fall of 193.09 points. Nifty opened 61.40 points down at the 15666.50 level.
The Finance Ministry said on Friday that the economy is seeing recovery after the second wave of the Kovid-19 pandemic due to targeted fiscal relief, monetary policy, and a rapid vaccination campaign.
The June Economic Survey said consumption is expected to increase with a further increase in employment support under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana.
