Central employees have not got relief in the matter of dearness allowance from the government. There were many such media reports that the government can take a decision on the dearness allowance (DA) of central employees, its dues, and other important demands on Saturday. In the reports, DA and DR of central employees and pensioners were expected to be restored from July. But now these hopes of central employees and pensioners have been dashed.
A message going viral on social media claiming to reintroduce DA to central government employees and dearness relief to central government pensioners from July 2021 has been termed as false by the Finance Ministry. While sharing the viral message, the Finance Ministry has issued a clarification that this office memorandum is fake. No such order has been given by the Government of India.
The Finance Ministry said, ‘A document is circulating on social media, which claims that Dearness Allowance of Central Employees and Dearness Relief for Central Government Pensioners is being reintroduced from July 2021. This office memorandum is false.
The office memorandum, which has reportedly gone viral on social media, states that the DA and DR, which were stopped due to the corona epidemic, are being revived from July 1, 2021. It also states that the DA and DR pending between July 1, 2020, and January 1, 2021, will be given in three installments. It has also been written that this order will be applicable to all central employees and pensioners of the central government.
Let us tell you here that central employees are getting 17 percent DA right now. In January 2019, it had increased to 21 percent. But due to the Corona epidemic, the hike was frozen till June 2021. Employees’ organizations say that the amount of DA should be increased by 24 percent in June 2020, 28 percent in December 2020, and 32 percent on July 21.
